JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani is optimistic that the performance of state money management will be more optimal with the achievement of a cooperation agreement with the Attorney General's Office (AGO) reached today.

According to the Minister of Finance, the collaboration that was built shows how important it is between government agencies to be able to strengthen working relationships with each other.

"I welcome this collaboration to support law enforcement against criminal acts in customs, excise and money laundering," he said in Jakarta on Thursday, June 16.

The Minister of Finance added that his party will coordinate in handling and settling evidence, exchanging and utilizing data and information, developing and improving human resources, aligning policies and disseminating understanding, as well as handling public complaints reports.

"We also agreed to draw up joint guidelines in improving communication, coordination and cooperation between the two agencies in order to harmonize and optimize the implementation of intelligence tasks and functions," he said.

To note, the synergy between the Ministry of Finance and the Attorney General's Office is a follow-up to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding Number PRJ-8/MK.01/2020 and Number 186 of 2020 dated September 2, 2020 concerning Coordination in the Implementation of Duties and Functions.

There are two large groups of cooperation. First, between the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) and the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus). The second is the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) together with the Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence (Jamintel).

"We hope that this can be used optimally for both parties and facilitate the tasks that will be carried out by all levels of the Ministry of Finance and the Indonesian Attorney General's Office," concluded Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
