JAKARTA - The government, through the Ministry of Finance, is said to have allocated a budget for the 2024 election for IDR 19.5 trillion in the indicative ceiling next year.

Deputy Minister of Finance, Suahasil Nazara, said if the budget was placed in ministry/institutional spending for the 2023 period.

"One of the spending priorities in preparation for the election, amounting to IDR 19.5 trillion", said Suahasil through a virtual channel on Thursday, April 28.

According to Sri Mulyani's subordinates, the total indicative ceiling for 2023 is IDR 977.1 trillion, which is the entire ministry/institution spending plan for next year.

"By the President's directive that the spending budget must be sharpened, including the election preparation budget", he said.
