JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) noted that there was a significant increase in the number of passengers using sea transportation on the D-6 Eid Al-Fitr 2022 or Tuesday, yesterday.

Spokesman for the Ministry of Transportation Adita Irawati said on sea transportation, the realization of the number of passengers on D-6 in 2022 was 60,658 passengers.

"Or an increase of 202.3 percent compared to a normal day of 20,064 passengers," he said at a press conference, Wednesday, April 27.

According to Adita, the increase in passenger movement also occurred in all modes of public transportation, when compared to normal days.

In ferry transportation, Adita said, the realization of the number of passengers on D-6 in 2022 was 70,762 passengers, or an increase of 27.4 percent when compared to a normal day of 55,525 passengers.

"In road transportation (bus transportation), the realization of the number of passengers on D-6 in 2022 is 97,427 passengers, or an increase of 55.2 percent when compared to a normal day of 62,760 passengers," he said.

Meanwhile, in rail transportation, the realization of the number of passengers on D-6 in 2022 was 76,597 passengers, or an increase of 58.3 percent when compared to a normal day of 48,372 passengers.

"Air transportation, the realization of the number of passengers on D-6 in 2022 is 137,354 passengers, or an increase of 30.7 percent when compared to normal days of 105,101 passengers," he said.

Meanwhile, the cumulative number of passenger movements monitored from Monday 25 April 2022 (D-7) to D-6 yesterday, there were 211,130 road (bus) passengers, 151,572 ferry passengers, 227,011 air transport, 117,284 sea transport passengers. , rail transport 149,921 passengers.

"The total movement of passengers in all modes of transportation has reached 856,918 passengers," he explained.

When compared to 2019 or before the pandemic (period D-7 to D-6), Adita said, the number of passenger movements in all modes was still smaller, with a comparison of 57.6 percent.
