AMBON - The Maluku Provincial Government is collaborating with 40 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to celebrate the 1443 Hijri Ramadan Festival which will be held at Merdeka Square, Ambon City until April 25, 2022.

"We have almost 40 SMEs and there are almost 100 products. What is certain is that there is Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK), there is Darma Wanita Persatuan (DWP), then the Indonesian Women Entrepreneurs Association (IWAPI) Maluku, then many other young people who have participated in enlivening this Ramadan festival," said Lasqi Chairman, Widya Pratiwi in Ambon, Monday, April 18.

Around 40 more MSMEs sell various products, including various kinds of culinary, ranging from drinks with various flavors, food in the form of snacks, to other heavy foods.

“I involved MSMEs because we did this activity at night, so this MSME is specifically for culinary and many of the ones I recruit are millennial generation. All of the MSMEs here are mostly young people," she said, quoted by Antara.

Apart from MSMEs, this festival also presents a collaborative music competition performance, namely "Senandung Sahur" which is participated by a number of young people in Maluku.

“This time we are doing a traditional activity that is already common in Maluku and Ambon City, namely the tradition of waking up for suhoor. Because for the past two years we have not had any activities during Ramadan, I think the enthusiasm of the community is extraordinary for this year, which is the first time we have held this event," said Widya.

She said that while there were around 50 groups registered as participants, and during the activity, registration would continue to be open.

"We are still open for registration, so for those who want to register, we invite them. And we plan that this will become an annual agenda. Hopefully, the pandemic will end soon, God willing, we will continue to do so," she said.

According to her, this year is a good year, because on this occasion the provincial government can organize Ramadan festival activities.

"Alhamdulillah, it has been conveyed earlier that this is a good month, a month full of grace of magfirah, we all know, almost a month, these two months, we are staying at home, worshiping at home, so in this month of Ramadan we are doing positive activities for the community," said Widya.
