850 candidates and 160 finalists

The Chairperson of the 2022 TOP CSR Awards, M. Lutfi Handayani, who is also the Editor-in-Chief of Top Business Magazine, explained that this activity was attended by 850 companies in Indonesia (long list of winning candidates). There were as many as 200 companies that participated in the assessment, and 160 companies participated in full.

"This number increased by 10 percent compared to last year's 145 companies," said Lutfi.

The Top CSR Awards activity is an activity of assessing and awarding the highest CSR field, and God willing, the largest and proudest in Indonesia, which is given to companies operating in Indonesia, which are considered successful in carrying out CSR/ TJSL/ Community Development programs, which effective and quality.

At the same time, the Top CSR Awards are not just an assessment and awarding activity, but also include a lot of shared learning processes to improve the quality and effectiveness of the company's CSR.

An example of this learning process is the Added Value session in the Judging Interview, which continues to be cultivated in award activities organized by Top Business Magazine or MSI Group.

"In this Value Added Session, the Jury provides input and suggestions for improvement to the participants, to improve the quality of the company's CSR going forward," said Lutfi.

Lutfi also explained that there is a difference between the Top CSR Awards and other CSR awards. Namely, first, the activities of other CSR awards, the focus of the assessment is only on the aspect of complying with ISO 26000/environmental aspects only. While the assessment of the 2022 Top CSR Awards is more complete. Not only complying with the provisions of ISO 26000 and environmental aspects, but also paying attention to aspects of CSV (Creating Shared Value), and CSR alignment to support the company's business to grow sustainably.

Second, in the 2022 Top CSR Awards, there are special categories related to the 5 Visions of the President of the Republic of Indonesia 2019-2024, this shows that corporate CSR should not only be in line with the company's business strategy, but also be in line with Government programs and policies. So that the CSR synergy between companies and the company's CSR synergy with the Government needs to be carried out properly.

Third, the assessment in the 2022 Top CSR Awards does not only involve CSR experts and consultants. But it also includes consultants and business associations, and considers corporate governance, including from the capital market and financial institutions. So that the success of CSR can be assessed and seen more comprehensively, from a broader (business) point of view.

Meanwhile, in his speech, the Director-General of Pollution and Environmental Damage Control of the Ministry of Life and Forestry, Sigit Reliantoro, conveyed a number of things. Among other things, the concept of community development carried out by many companies has already protected the ecosystem.

"In addition to solving social-environmental problems, there is also corporate CSR that creates biodiversity," said Sigit.

Sigit also said that the circular economy will be increasingly important. “Processing certain goods as long as possible is necessary. The business world must also prepare a strategy so that its products survive when there are restrictions on plastic in their products," said Sigit.
