JAKARTA - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa monitors beef prices in Madiun City by visiting the Madiun Big Market (PBM) to ensure that commodity prices are stable.

"For the past week, we have heard that beef prices in several areas of DKI Jakarta, Banten, and parts of West Java have increased. However, friends, we see that beef prices in East Java, including Madiun City, are normal because the supply of meat to vendors is stable. so that it does not affect consumer prices," said Governor Khofifah while reviewing the Madiun Big Market in Madiun City, Saturday.

During her visit, Khofifah had a dialogue with traders and found that the price of beef in the traditional market was relatively stable and did not increase.

It was observed that the price of first-quality beef in Madiun Market was Rp. 110,000 per kilogram. Meanwhile, standard quality meat varies from Rp. 70,000 to Rp. 100,000 per kilogram.

Governor Khofifah explained that there were 26 traditional markets in East Java that were sampled by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to measure the level of price increases by looking at supply and demand in the market. Specifically in Madiun City, there are two markets that BPS sampled, namely Madiun Big Market and Madiun Sleko Market.

"Therefore, monitoring the movement of supply and demand in BPS sampling markets and being able to directly meet consumers like the Madiun Big Market is very important," he said.

Governor Khofifah also monitored the existence of tempeh, which in the last two weeks had disappeared in a number of areas due to the scarcity of soybeans. At Pasar Besar Madiun there is no change in stock or price. The price is set the same, only the size is adjusted because the price is not increased, which is in the range of Rp. 2,000 to Rp. 5,000 per box according to size.

In addition to the price of beef and tempeh, Khofifah conveyed the problem of the availability of cooking oil at the Madiun Big Market. Although in several markets in Madiun City, bulk cooking oil has been sent, but it must be continued so that the supply flow is available safely.

Khofifah Indar Parawansa saw that the bulk oil supply was only enough to sell for 2 to 3 days. This means that there is still homework to stabilize the distribution of cooking oil.
