JAKARTA - PT Visionet Internasional (OVO) confirmed that "OVO Mutual Fund Investment" listed in the Press Release of the Investment Alert Task Force (SWI) on February 17, 2022 was a fake Telegram group account that had no connection at all with OVO as an electronic money issuer that has a license. official from Bank Indonesia.

OVO President Director Karaniya Dharmasaputra said that there is only one official OVO Telegram channel with the name OVO Team Community.

"We confirm that the investment Telegram account in the name of OVO is a fake account. We feel very disadvantaged because the name OVO has been misused illegally and violates the law," he said in an official broadcast on Sunday, February 20.

According to Karaniya, his party expressed his gratitude for the firm steps taken by OJK, BI and the government to continue to eradicate fake accounts that are trying to deceive the public.

"We continue to coordinate with the apparatus and Telegram so that these fake accounts, which have faked and used the names of many fintech companies, banks, and other leading financial institutions, are immediately eradicated," he said.

For information, a few days ago the Investment Alert Task Force closed 21 entities that carried out illegal activities under the guise of investment. These irresponsible individuals faked the names of a number of companies, including OVO and Mandiri Investasi.

"We again remind the public to always be vigilant and careful in carrying out digital activities," said Karaniya.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Investment Alert Task Force, Tongam L. Tobing, asked the public to ensure that prior to making an investment, they must ensure a permit from the competent authority.
