The CEO Of Krakatau Steel, Silmy Karim, Is Called A Thief, Shouts A Thief Until He Is Expelled From The DPR Meeting

JAKARTA - The incident of expulsion of meeting participants at the DPR has occurred again. This time, the unfortunate incident happened to the Managing Director of Krakatau Steel, Silmy Karim.

In a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission VII DPR, he was asked to leave the room by the chairman of the meeting. To investigate, the expulsion could not be separated from Silmy's fierce debate with Bambang Haryadi, who was none other than the Deputy Chairman of Commission VII as well as the legislator who was trusted to lead the RDP.

"Respect this trial, there are technical rules in this trial," said Bambang to Silmy in a high tone, quoted from the DPR Commission VII Youtube channel on Tuesday, February 15.

In Bambang's view, Silmy could not follow the meeting procedures and was considered unable to provide comprehensive information as desired by the board.

“You don't seem to appreciate the commission. If you can't talk you're out," he said.

The order was then snatched by Silmy who felt he had been kicked out of the meeting room.

"Well if we have to go out, we're out," said Silmy.

In fact, the debate between the two leaders took place in order to find the best solution for the manufacturing sector problem currently being faced by Krakatau Steel.

Simly briefly explained about the construction of a blast furnace system of steel mills. However, Bambang seems dissatisfied with Silmy's explanation because he thinks that the boss of Krakatau Steel is inconsistent: the blast furnace construction has been stopped but wants domestic production to increase.

“This blast furnace construction has been stopped but we want to strengthen domestic production. Don't be a thief shouting a thief, come play but pretend not to play," said Bambang.

The statement from the chairman of the meeting was then interrupted by Silmy.

"What do you mean, thief, sir?" he asked.

Bambang then mentioned the case of the Indonesian Iron and Steel Industry Association (IISIA) which is currently being handled by Polda Metro Jaya. Just so you know, IISIA is an organization led by Silmy.

From this mutual contact, Bambang then reprimanded Silmy until the two got into an argument and ended up being expelled from the meeting room.
