JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) has completed organizing an educational and sports campaign activity entitled "Lari dari Judol" on 27-29 December 2024 at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Jakarta.

Plt. Director General of Public Communication and Media of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, Molly Prabawaty said that this activity is not only for sports, but also to increase public awareness of the dangers of online gambling.

"Sports are one of the best ways to avoid online gambling temptation and build positive living habits," Molly said in a statement on Sunday, December 29.

The highlight of the event opened by the Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria took place on December 29, 2024 with 5K Fun Run and Zumba activities to complement the memorable sporting experience for all participants.

The "Lari dari Judol" campaign was raised in response to the massive circulation of online gambling among the public. Online gambling has developed with increasingly sophisticated modes, such as easy access and manipulative promotion in the form of fake wins, which trap many individuals in an addiction circle.

"As of December 27, 2024, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) has blocked 5,512,602 content related to online gambling on various digital platforms," added Molly.

He also reiterated the importance of collaboration between various parties such as the Police, Bank Indonesia, OJK, and the cekrekening.id platform, to eradicate online gambling as a whole.

Through this activity, Komdigi hopes that people can experience for themselves how to be better and more fun to fill their spare time and maintain their own welfare rather than playing online gambling.
