Mahfud MD Clarifies 11 Of Sri Mulyani's Subordinates Who Are 'rogue' On BLBI Assets, It Turns Out That Only 1 Is An Employee

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD straightened out his statement regarding the involvement of 11 employees of the Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN) of the Ministry of Finance who were suspected of misappropriating the confiscated assets of the former BLBI (Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance).

“Exactly 1 DJKN employee who has been disabled. The rest are gangs", he asserted via his personal Twitter page @mohmahfudmd quoted on Friday, January 21.

Just so you know, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs had caused a stir because he had conveyed information that 11 DJKN employees were involved in the embezzlement of BLBI assets. He said this when holding a press conference regarding the latest developments in the achievements of the BLBI (Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance) Task Force on Thursday, January 20 yesterday.

Mahfud's rebuttal was echoed by the Director of Law and Public Relations of the Directorate General of State Assets of the Ministry of Finance, Tri Wahyuningsih Retno Mulyani.

"(Only one person) as Mr. Mahfud has clarified", she told VOI when contacted.

In previous editorial reports, the 11 people have now been handled by the Police Criminal Investigation Agency to account for their actions.
