The Green Light Has Been Given, The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Prioritizes Coal Companies That Fulfill 100 Percent Of DMO

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif stated that he would only prioritize entrepreneurs who have fulfilled their DMO obligations 100 percent to carry out coal export activities.

This was revealed by Arifin when holding a press conference on the performance of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in 2021, Wednesday, January 12. Meanwhile, for those who have not, Arifin obliges to immediately fulfill these provisions.

"The priority is 100 percent DMO. For those who haven't, please fulfill it immediately," said Arifin.

Until now, said Arifin, his party is still waiting for confirmation from PLN to immediately provide a statement regarding the stock of coal so that they can immediately issue export permits for entrepreneurs.

"We are still waiting for PLN. If it is safe, the ship can go directly to the generator and there is a contract," he continued.

Arifin said this DMO obligation has been issued since 2014 and requires entrepreneurs to supply 25 percent of production for domestic needs while 75 percent can be allocated for commercial trade.

"With the cooperation of all stakeholders and we have worked together for 13 days, hopefully, everything can be resolved properly," he concluded.
