Good Opportunity, Teten Masduki Ensures MSMEs Enliven MotoGP 2022 Mandalika

JAKARTA - The Minister of Cooperation and SMEs Teten Masduki ensured the preparation of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to enliven the Mandalika MotoGP international event in March 2022 has fixed and is optimistic that it will run smoothly.

He hopes that the participation of local MSMEs in Mandalika, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) will become a promotional event and help boost the economy of these business actors.

"The 2022 Mandalika MotoGP was designed by President Joko Widodo for three things, namely trading (trade), tourism (tourism), and investment. For that, we must make this MotoGP a success, not only for NTB, but also for its MSMEs," said Minister Teten when reviewing the readiness of several exhibition locations for MSME players in Central Lombok, NTB, as quoted from his press statement in Jakarta, Thursday, January 13.

According to him, the MotoGP infrastructure development in NTB should be grateful because it provides great benefits for the local community. Starting from the potential of tourist villages, homestays (residential houses for lodging), to the culinary sector.

The plan, said Teten, is that there will be five points of SME promotion booth locations during the MotoGP implementation at the Mandalika Circuit.

The five location points visited by Teten Masduki were the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) area as the developer and manager of the Mandalika tourism destination complex.

Then, the east parking, west parking, and three locations are within the circuit area.

There are also other additional locations that Minister visited, namely the arrival and departure areas at Lombok International Airport.

Regarding the number of MSMEs that will be involved in the event, he could not provide details. Currently, he only hopes that MSMEs are ready to participate in the implementation of the 2022 MotoGP.

"We will prepare in the next month there will be an e-catalog (online shopping application) for MSME products in MotoGP 2022," he said.

The MSME product categories involved are also diverse, ranging from culinary, handicrafts, other industries such as bicycles or electric motorcycles.

“Now we still have three months to prepare. Hopefully this event will be successful and bring benefits to all," said Teten Masduki. The Mandalika MotoGP will take place from 18-20 March 2022 at Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit, Lombok, NTB.
