Shelvy conveyed, during the Christmas and New Year's Transport service period which runs from December 17, 2021, to January 4, 2022, service users are advised to prepare for a trip by purchasing tickets via online.

She explained that based on data from the Christmas and New Year's (Nataru) Command Post, the number of passengers and vehicles crossing from Java to Sumatra or vice versa was observed to be still sloping.

So that the total number of vehicles that have crossed from Java to Sumatra is 17.087 units, an increase of 14 percent compared to the realization of the same period last year as many as 14.988 units.

"If you look at the data, there is indeed a shift in the trend from pedestrians and motorbike users to private cars so that four-wheeled vehicle traffic has increased. During this year's period, it is estimated that the trend of increasing two-wheeled vehicles on the Merak-Bakauheni crossing is 12 percent and 4-wheelers is 11 percent. percent," she said.

Exceptions are given to service users 12 years and under who are exempted from showing a vaccine card, and also service users with special or comorbid health conditions by attaching a doctor's certificate from the Government Hospital.
