Sri Mulyani Reveals 32 People With Disabilities Successfully Achieve Doctoral And Master's Degrees Thanks To The State Budget

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, said that the State Budget is working hard to achieve good access to education, access to good health, and all kinds of public services properly for the people of Indonesia, including for brothers and sisters with disabilities.

"God created us all with the same rights, no difference. All Indonesian citizens should have access to good education, access to good health, and all kinds of public services properly", she said via his personal Instagram page @smindrawati on Friday, December 3.

This statement is the Minister of Finance's firm commitment as well as moral support to all audiences in the country which coincides with the commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. As evidence, the Minister of Finance revealed that the presence of the state to support equal opportunity can be seen from the provision of education costs for the people of Indonesia without recognizing physical limitations.

“The state budget is a means to realize it all, through various government policies and programs. In terms of education, the LPDP and Kemendikbud, Research and Technology were present. A total of 32 scholarships (10 scholarships at Doctoral level and 22 scholarships at Masters level) both at home and abroad, have been awarded to persons with disabilities as of 2021", she said.

Apart from the Ministry of Education, support from the State Budget is also reflected in budget allocations that are disbursed through the Ministry of Social Affairs and other strategic ministries or institutions.

“The Ministry of Social Affairs was also present with a budget of IDR 189 billion to support social rehabilitation and various programs for persons with disabilities to help realize a better standard of living for them. Likewise, the Ministry of Youth and Sports supports the participation of Indonesian athletes in the annual paralympic events", she explained.

For this reason, the state treasurer hopes that what the government is trying to do can bring a sense of justice so that the ideals of the welfare of the nation's life can be realized properly.

"Through gotong royong (work together), all elements of Indonesian society can help realize the nation's ideals to become a dignified country and provide just and equitable welfare for all its citizens", concluded Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
