Erick Thohir Inaugurates The Newest SOE Public Relations Forum Manager: The Task Is Not Easy, Must Anticipate Bad News

JAKARTA – Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir officially inaugurated the SOE Public Relations Forum (FH) consisting of 50 management people from 107 government entities.

In his remarks, Erick said that the SOE Faculty of Law was the main guard in conveying the latest conditions regarding state corporations. It was also stated that SOEs were pushing for transformation, so it was important for the public to know.

"I now strongly emphasize that each of these SOEs has a core business, in the sense of being able to open the market. For this reason, public relations must ensure that these two things are managed properly," he said in an official statement, quoted Tuesday, November 30.

Erick added that the inauguration of the latest BUMN FH will have a service period until the next 2023. On that occasion, he appointed the Corporate Secretary of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk. Aestika Oryza Gunarto as General Chairperson of the BUMN FH for the period 2021-2023.

On the shoulders of Aestika, Erick hopes that all state-owned companies will continue to improve technology adaptation in public communications.

"The economic disruption that has occurred is also due to digitalization. This is also an impetus that must be done and we must do it, because we cannot stem the so-called digitalization era," he said.

Furthermore, Erick Thohir is looking forward to the work program of the SOE Faculty of Law in anticipating bad news about government companies.

"I must say that the establishment of the SOE Public Relations Forum is not an easy task. The work program when we try to consolidate that all SOEs want to have the same vision, and this is quite challenging. Public relations in this forum must be able to map and sit together with the Ministry of SOEs," close Eric.
