Wow, So Cheap! Tommy Suharto's Assets Will Be Auctioned Off By The BLBI Task Force For IDR 500,000 To IDR 1 Million Per Square Meter

JAKARTA - The daily chairman of the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance Task Force (BLBI), Rionald Silaban, said that the confiscation of several parcels of land and buildings belonging to Hutomo Mandala Putra alias Tommy Suharto had entered the stage of estimating the selling price.

According to Rionald, the effort was made to restore state rights that Tommy had used over the central bank bailout decades ago.

"For the assets (Tommy Suharto) that were confiscated yesterday as we have conveyed, the amount is around 124 hectares and an assessment is currently being carried out", he said at a press conference broadcast online on Monday, November 8.

Rionald added that the Task Force promised that the estimated price value would be released soon to be widely informed to the public.

"Hopefully the value can come out this week", he said.

As an illustration, Sri Mulyani's subordinates provided a range of benchmark prices prevailing in the area.

“There is an estimate, if it is IDR 500,000 per meter, then (the price is) around IDR 600 billion. However, if it is IDR 1 million per meter, then the value is IDR 1.2 trillion”, he asserted.

However, Rionald does not want to speculate further regarding the exact amount of Tommy Suharto's assets that will be sold off because they still have to wait for the team's work to be completed.

"But I do not want to conclude at this time, how many results because we are still waiting for the results of the assessment", said Rionald.

For information, the government's decision to sell Tommy Suharto's assets confiscated by the state was revealed in the BLBI Task Force broadcast last weekend.

"For collateral assets that have been confiscated, the management process will continue through the PUPN (State Receivable Affairs Committee) mechanism, which is an open sale (auction)", said the Task Force.

Tommy Suharto himself is said that the Task Force has a debt of IDR 2.61 trillion for withdrawing credit from banks that received BLBI funds. Meanwhile, several confiscated property parcels were located in Karawang, West Java. Here is the complete list.

1. Land with an area of 530,125,526 m2 is located in Kamojing Village, Karawang Regency as stated in SHGB Number 4/Kamojing on behalf of PT KIA Timor Motors.

2. The land area of 98,896,700 m2 is located in Kalihurip Village, Karawang Regency as stated in SHGB Number 22/Kalihurip on behalf of PT KIA Timor Motors.

3. Land with an area of 100,985.15 m2 is located in Cikampek Pusaka Village, Karawang Regency as stated in SHGB Number 5/Cikampek Pusaka on behalf of PT KIA Timor Motors.

4. Land with an area of 518,870 m2 is located in Kamojing Village, Karawang Regency as stated in SHGB Number 3/Kamojing on behalf of PT Timor Industri Component.
