Klylie Jenner, Nicknamed Tone Deaf, Has Assets Of IDR 8.1 Trillion But Raises Funds For Her Makeup Artist

JAKARTA - Internet and television star Kylie Jenner has been nicknamed the Tone-deaf by netizen for the umpteenth time.

The most recent one came when Jenner uploaded a link to the fundraising site, GoFundMe. Jenner asked her Instagram followers to donate to her makeup artist, Samuel Rauda, who had an accident.

"May God see and take care of you @makeupbysamuel. Everyone takes a little time to pray for Sam who got into this week's accident. And scroll up to visit his family's gofundme,” Jenner wrote in Instagram Story.

However, the request for donations confused netizens. The reason is, it's no secret that Jenner is one of the richest people in the world. She reportedly made a profit of 590 million US dollars, equivalent to IDR 8, 1 trillion in 2020, earning her the title of Forbes' richest celebrity.

With her title and wealth, she can assist the treatment of the makeup artist who changes her appearance every day. But she was considered tone-deaf because she was not sensitive to the situation.

According to Rauda's GoFundMe page, Jenner has already donated $5 thousand but netizens think she can do more than that.

Tone Deaf

The word Tone Deaf means tone-deaf and is usually associated with music. However, over time, this term is also used to describe someone who does not understand social conditions, customs, norms, and so on.

According to the Urban Dictionary, tone deaf people usually don't understand the social standards and expectations of those around them.

For example, Kylie Jenner. Even though Samuel Rauda's GoFundMe page has passed the achievement target, many think that Jenner can fully help him.

On top of that, Jenner who looks like she can afford to buy her kid a luxurious Birkin bag should be able to do more for the people she works with.

This is not the first time Kylie Jenner has earned the nickname Tone Deaf. Everything that is done seems to always invite criticism from netizens.

In 2019, Jenner threw a birthday party for her friend Anastasia Karanikolau. Through her Instagram, Jenner is known to be throwing parties with the television series The Handmaid's Tale.

“You know, The Handmaid's Tale is my favorite show. Welcome to Gilead,” she said in a video.

It should be noted, The Handmaid's Tale tells of a group of women during the United States patriarchy who are required to serve the sexual passions of an authoritarian government named Gilead.

Earlier this year, her cosmetics line Kylie Cosmetics launched hand sanitizer products. The price for one product is 7 dollars or 100 thousand rupiah. This product has received criticism from netizens because of its high price.

Jenner told Page Six that her intentions had been misunderstood. She said Jenner made a donation when her campaign target was only 10 thousand US dollars. But after Jenner uploaded the link on Instagram, the target went up according to what the campaign owner had set.

Kylie Jenner also wrote a statement on her Instagram Story. "Sam is not my makeup artist and unfortunately we don't have a personal relationship but I worked with him a few years ago and I think he is the sweetest person."

"I saw this incident from my current makeup artist post, Ariel and I called Ariel to see what happened to Sam. After understanding it, I visited the gofundme link when the target was still 10k."

Jenner said she did not know how this false narrative was spread on the internet but Sam's family had contacted Ariel and appreciated all the donations, prayers and love for Sam.
