Are You An Illegal Loaning Victim? Immediately Report The Police And Don't Have To Pay

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam), Mahfud MD, asked people who are victims of online loans or illegal loans to report if they are continuously terrorized to return their bills. He reiterated that illegal loans do not need to be paid.

"Victims must be brave enough to report to the police so that they can get protection if later on more specific protection can be carried out by the Witness and Victim Protection Agency, all of which are provided as legal instruments", Mahfud said in a press conference broadcast on the YouTube of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Friday, October 22.

He said the government is currently trying to follow up on the perpetrators of illegal acts, including online loans. This is done to save the community from extortion and threats from irresponsible parties.

"Criminally there are several alternatives. Possibly the ITE Law Articles 27, 29. 32. Article 28 is for example the distribution of indecent photos that are spread to threaten people to be ashamed and this (happens, ed) in many cases", said Mahfud.

Complementing Mahfud, Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Komjen Agus Indrarto, said his party was ready to provide security to the victims. In fact, the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, is said to have made a telegram addressed to the Regional Police Chief to respond to public reports.

"Polda is to respond if there are actions that are felt to be psychologically and physically disturbing to the community who happens to be the victim of a loan", said Agus.

"So I ask the community members to be brave enough to report to the police for the events they face related to this illegal loan", he concluded.
