JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto revealed that the construction of thousands of bridges and clean water sources by the TNI and Polri had been underway before he gave direct instructions.

Prabowo made the statement when he inaugurated 3,395 TNI-Polri bridges and 3,000 TNI AD clean water sources hybridly from Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, Thursday, August 13.

"Brothers have taken the initiative before I actually gave instructions. Brothers have worked," said Prabowo.

He said he had been monitoring various initiatives since he was still serving as Minister of Defense.

"I have been monitoring, several years ago since I was the Minister of Defense, I have been monitoring the initiatives taken by all of you," he said.

Prabowo specifically mentioned the Chief of Staff of the Army, General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak. According to the President, a number of Maruli's initiatives were visible even before he took office as KSAD.

"General Maruli, before becoming KSAD, before holding the highest position in the Army, I have monitored you taking good initiatives," said Prabowo.

He assessed that working in the field was important because it touched the basic needs of the community, especially in remote areas.

According to Prabowo, TNI soldiers and members of the National Police work in areas with difficult conditions and help residents who previously had to walk for hours or have difficulty obtaining clean water.

"The people themselves admit that your people, your soldiers, your police officers have worked day and night," he said.

Prabowo also said that every service of officials and leaders was ultimately judged by the public.

"All good deeds, all good service, by individuals, by officials, by leaders, are actually monitored, monitored, recorded, remembered by the people," he said.

At the event, Prabowo inaugurated 3,395 bridges built by the TNI and Polri as well as 3,000 sources of clean water from the development of the TNI AD.
