BNN arrests fat boss, wanted for drugs in Kampung Bahari

JAKARTA - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) RI together with the Metro Jaya Police, BNNP DKI Jakarta, and BNNK North Jakarta arrested Muhammad Ridwan alias Fat Boss, a fugitive suspected of being one of the drug lords of the Kampung Bahari network, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

The Fat Boss was arrested in a joint operation held in the Bahari Village area on Thursday, August 12, 2026. Fat Boss or Ridwan was previously on the wanted list (DPO) and had long been hunted by law enforcement officers.

Director of Enforcement and Pursuit (Dakjar) of the BNN, Brigadier General Roy Hardi Siahaan said that the arrest was a follow-up to the anti-narcotics village operation carried out by the police in October 2025.

"This arrest is a follow-up to the anti-narcotics village operation carried out in October 2025, where the perpetrators fled after being caught in the case of possession of 98 kg of methamphetamine, cash Rp1.4 billion, various precious metals, and seven firearms," said Roy Hardi.

The operation began with a readiness call for personnel, which was centered at the North Jakarta BNNK Office. After coordinating, the joint team then moved to a number of locations that were the target of the operation in the Bahari Village area.

Roy said that the officers did not only target the residence of Bos Gendut. The team also carried out a search of the house belonging to two other drug traffickers who were suspected of operating in the area, namely A alias Lopes and a dealer with the initials Kimmul.

"The target is not only the private residence of MR (Fat Boss), but also the houses of two other drug traffickers who operate in the area, namely A alias Lopes and a trafficker with the initials Kimmul," he said.

The search was carried out at a number of locations, including garages and the Fat Boss's residence on Jalan Bak Air and Jalan Samudra. Officers also combed the houses owned by A alias Lopes and Kimmul in the Jalan Bak Air area, Tanjung Priok.

The operation was marred by a heated situation. A number of residents resisted by throwing fireworks at security officers.

The officers then took firm and measured action by firing tear gas to disperse the crowd and securing the perimeter so that the search process could continue.

After the situation was under control, officers resumed operations until all targets were secured.

"In addition to arresting the Fat Boss, officers also secured three other people who were suspected of playing a role as drug dealers in the area," said Roy.

The four people were then taken to the North Jakarta BNNK Office along with a number of evidence to undergo further examination.

From the search, officers also seized two vehicles, namely a white BMW X1 and a black Mitsubishi Xpander. In addition, a digital scale, CCTV device, HT communication device, and a number of iPhone mobile phones were also secured.

The arrest of the Fat Boss is part of the police's efforts to break the chain of narcotics distribution in the Bahari Village area, which has long been known as one of the most vulnerable areas for drug trafficking in North Jakarta.

BNN RI and Polda Metro Jaya emphasized that they would continue to pursue other perpetrators who are still related to the illegal drug trafficking network.
