Keep Increasing, the Death Toll in the Colombian Earthquake Becomes 20 People

JAKARTA - The latest data recorded 20 people were killed by an earthquake in Colombia with a magnitude of 7.4. Mayor Mauricio Salazar said as many as 18 people were killed in the city of Pereira, Colombia, two others in the city of Manizales.

Meanwhile, Bogota, the capital of Colombia, was reportedly not severely affected by the earthquake on Monday, August 10. Currently, rescue teams are being deployed to various affected cities.

"Bogota is ready to help the cities most affected by the earthquake. A total of 100 rescue personnel are ready to depart for CATAM (Military Air Transport Command) and then head to the cities that are the priority of the Central Government," wrote the Mayor of Bogota, Carlos Fernando Galán, in a X post quoted by CNN.

"There were no reports of serious structural damage in Bogotá, so our resources are ready to be deployed to serve the country," he continued.

"We stand in solidarity with the affected cities. We will continue to deal with this emergency situation and provide any assistance needed," said Galán.
