DEMAK - The simple desire to present typical Demak souvenirs was the starting point for Bambwi Jaya's business journey in 2019. At that time, the owner, Bambwi Rumiyati, saw that there were not many souvenir products that really represented the local potential of Demak, especially the star fruit which is one of the region's typical commodities.

From this opportunity, armed with knowledge, expertise, and Rumiyati's interest, he began to develop Brownies Mocaf Belimbing, a processed product made from mocaf flour and belimbing fruit which is the hallmark of his business.

The combination of local ingredients makes the product unique, while offering a gluten-free and high-fiber snack option for consumers who are increasingly concerned about health aspects.

Even so, Rumiyati said that Bambwi Jaya's journey was not always smooth. The business he started was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic until sales decreased. However, he did not stop. Rumiyati gradually reorganized his business and began to develop Bambwi Jaya more strongly since 2023.

As businesses begin to move again, the need to organize operations is also increasingly felt. Rumiyati needs to ensure that production runs more stably, customer transactions are easier, business capital needs can be managed well, to obtain a study room to develop his business capacity.

As a result, with the growth of the business, Rumiyati also entrusted his financial services needs to BRI. In the process, the assistance provided by the BRI officer was felt more than just a banking service. He said, the friendliness of the officers, open communication, and willingness to understand the business conditions made Rumiyati feel accompanied in every stage of his business development.

"I have been a BRI customer for a long time. What I feel is that BRI officers not only offer products, but also really want to listen to our business needs. If there are obstacles or we need information, they respond quickly and help find solutions. That's what makes me more confident to develop a business with BRI," said Rumiyati.

In her journey to become a customer, Rumiyati said that one day BRI officers introduced BRI Demak State Owned Enterprises House as a place for UMKM players to increase their business capacity. Seeing the benefits offered, Rumiyati decided to join in 2020.

At the BUMN House, he received gradual coaching, ranging from business administration arrangements, packaging and marketing development, to the use of digital platforms. Rumiyati also participated in various programs such as BRI Incubator and Brilianpreneur which expanded his insight in developing business strategies and opening access to wider market opportunities.

"Through the BRI Demak BUMN House, I have learned a lot about how to manage a business better. Not only are they taught about digital marketing, but also how to build products that are more ready to compete. The accompaniment is really sustainable, so we are increasingly confident in developing our business," said Rumiyati.

According to him, the support of the BUMN House is one of the important motivations for Bambwi Jaya to rise in class. Products that were originally developed as regional souvenirs are now able to reach a wider market.

On the other hand, the use of QRIS and BRImo also helps the transaction process to be easier for buyers, so that business operations can run more efficiently. In fact, Bambwi Jaya is now able to open up employment opportunities for three local workers who are involved in the production process to the daily business operations.

"We are very helped by marketing at the BRI Demak BUMN House. In addition, our transaction process is also very helped by QRIS and BRImo, so we can provide payment convenience for buyers," said Rumiyati.

On a separate occasion, BRI's Corporate Secretary Dhanny said that the story of Bambwi Jaya shows the importance of continuous assistance for MSMEs. According to him, MSMEs need an ecosystem that not only provides access to financing, but also opens up learning spaces, market expansion, and business capacity strengthening.

"BRI continues to be committed to providing comprehensive empowerment for MSMEs, ranging from access to financial services, business assistance, to opening market opportunities. Through the BUMN House, MSMEs are expected to be more adaptive, competitive, and able to continuously upgrade," said Dhanny.

Until May 2026, BRI has managed 54 SOEs in various regions of Indonesia and held more than 18 thousand training. Through the presence of SOEs, BRI continues to strengthen its role as a partner in empowering MSMEs so that they can grow, expand their markets, and provide added value for the regional economy.
