Banten Provincial Government Seals 3 Companies Polluting the Cisadane River

JAKARTA - The Banten Provincial Government (Pemprov) through the Environment and Forestry Service (DLHK) sealed three companies suspected of polluting the Cisadane River, specifically in the Teluknaga District area, Tangerang Regency.

"There are three companies or industries that we have sealed because they are not licensed," said Head of the Banten Provincial DLHK Wawan Gunawan as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 21.

He said the sealing of the three companies was carried out after his party conducted an investigation and investigation into the change in color of the Cisadane River water.

Based on the results of the investigation, the temporary allegations that caused changes in the quality of river water were caused by industrial waste pollution. "Furthermore, in the future, for unlicensed companies, we will follow up, immediately follow up according to the existing rules," said Wawan. Meanwhile, the Head of the Supervision and Control Section (Wasdal) of the Tangerang Regency DLHKKabupaten, Sandy Nugraha revealed that the three companies were industries that were engaged in plastic recycling, ingot or aluminum smelting, and jeans washing (laundry).

"There are three companies that are sealed because they do not have permits. All three are located in the village of West Kampung Melayu, Teluknaga District," he said. He said that the three companies that were sealed, the plastic recycling and jeans washing companies were proven to pollute the Cisadane River because they did not have Wastewater Treatment Facilities (IPAL) according to standards. "Therefore, we immediately sealed it, for certainty of pollution two companies are plastic recycling and laundry are proven, while the ingot smelting is still being investigated in more depth," said Wawan Gunawan.
