JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) has issued a circular ordering the cessation of data and information collection activities related to the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.

Head of the Legal Information Center of the Attorney General's Office, Anang Supriatna, said the letter was issued after the data collection period ended so that it would not be misused.

"Yes, the letter was issued because the deadline for collecting data had expired and the letter was issued so that it would not be misused in its implementation," said Anang as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 13.

The order is contained in Letter Number B-3256/F.2/Fd.2/07/2026 which was issued on Friday (10/7) and signed by the Director of Investigation of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi.

In the letter, it was explained that previously Jampidsus had issued Letter Number B-2668/F.2/Fd.2/06/2026 dated June 15, 2026 which ordered all heads of the high prosecutor's office to inventory and report various problems in the implementation of the MBG program.

Following up on the Attorney General's disposition regarding media coverage related to data and information collection activities at the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in Central Java, all heads of the high prosecutor were then asked to stop these activities in their respective legal jurisdictions.

Previously, a letter was circulated which was said to have come from the Head of the Internal Security Sub-Division of the Profession and Security of the Central Java Police regarding the alleged examination of the SPPG manager by the prosecutor's office.

In the letter it was stated that a number of Polri personnel who were managers of the SPPG were asked not to meet the prosecutor's summons without a valid accompaniment procedure.

In response to this, the Central Java High Prosecutor's Office confirmed that it did not carry out searches, examinations, or hand-arrest operations against the SPPG managers in the region.

Head of the Legal Information Section of the Central Java Prosecutor's Office, Arfan Triono, said all the regional attorneys' offices in Central Java only carried out the collection of data and information directly at the SPPG points.

According to Arfan, the activity is purely a data collection and collection of information by prioritizing a professional, persuasive, and legal approach.

He explained that if the SPPG manager is willing to provide data or information, the data will be recorded. On the other hand, if they are not willing to provide information, this condition is also recorded as part of the data collection results without any coercive action.
