SDN Srengseng Sawah 15 Still Goes to School After Bomb Threat, Pramono: Don't Be Afraid Because You Are Afraid

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung ensures that learning activities at SDN Srengseng Sawah 15, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta will continue tomorrow after a bomb threat appeared on the first day of the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS).

The decision was made after the Gegana Team and Densus 88 conducted checks at the location and did not find any explosives. Pramono admitted that he had coordinated with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government when he received reports about the threat.

"I have just communicated with all the ranks at the City Hall. It is true that at SD Negeri 15 Srengseng Sawah South Jakarta there are those who make threats. But when the check was carried out, then there was Densus 88 and also the Gegana team, it turned out that there was none as conveyed," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, July 13.

Although the results of the search did not find a bomb, Pramono asked the police to investigate the perpetrators who spread the threat.

Pramono also reminded that the threat should not cause excessive panic among the public. According to him, vigilance is still needed, but educational activities must continue.

"So don't be afraid because this is the first day, then we are all afraid of it. But we are still vigilant for that," said Pramono.

"We will continue to ask for people who commit terror to use this issue to be investigated and hopefully it will not happen, but obviously we ask for this to be investigated," he continued.

He emphasized that the safety of students and educators remained a priority. However, the DKI Provincial Government will not close schools or shift learning to online only because the threat was later confirmed not to be proven.

The first day of the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year at SDN Srengseng Sawah 15, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, was forced to stop after the school received a WhatsApp message containing a bomb threat from an unknown number.

All students were sent home, while the police carried out sterilization and screening in the school area. Responding to the report, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government immediately coordinated with the police. The handling involved the local Polsek, Gegana Team, to Densus 88 to ensure the safety of the school.
