President Prabowo Emphasizes Want to Raise Defense Industry SOEs

West Lombok - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that he was not willing to let state-owned companies fall into foreign hands. Therefore, the government continues to be committed to advancing State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), one of the main ones is the defense industry BUMN.

President Prabowo said PT PAL Indonesia, PT Pindad, to PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) had wanted to be sold to foreign parties. However, President Prabowo actually wants to continue to work to improve the governance of SOEs.

PT PAL has produced several defense ships whose quality has been recognized, such as the KRI Alugoro submarine which was assembled through technology transfer with South Korea.

In addition, there is also the 60 m Fast Missile Ship KRI Sampari which is 100 percent produced by local engineers. President Prabowo also mentioned that the Saudi Arabian royal military forces have established defense cooperation with PT Pindad.

President Prabowo hopes that the domestic defense industry will continue to rise through transparent business entity governance, which is responsible and always in the interests of the people.
