, Evidence of Money Given to State Organizers Found

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (Kortepidkor) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police searched the Office of Customs and Excise Supervision and Service (KPPBC) of the Juanda Customs Sub-Directorate in Sedati, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

The search was carried out in the context of an investigation into alleged acts of corruption related to the import of mobile phones that were not in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.

The Head of Operations of the Police's Criminal Investigation Unit, Kombes Ahmad Yusuf Afandi, confirmed the search activities.

"Yes, it is true. It is still going on," said Yusuf when confirmed, Wednesday, June 24, 2021.

Yusuf explained that the case began with the alleged practice of importing used mobile phones from abroad by listing information that did not match the actual condition in the import documents.

In addition, investigators also found allegations of giving money to officials or state organizers to facilitate the process of importing and exporting goods to Indonesian territory.

"This act is suspected to have taken place from 2024 to 2026 and has the potential to cause losses to the country's finances and economy," he said.

Based on the results of the investigation, the importer companies are suspected of importing used mobile phones through the Juanda Customs using import documents that list different types of goods from the actual goods entering Indonesia.

"Investigators are also investigating the alleged collusion that led to the import activities to take place without adequate physical examination of imported goods," he said.

To strengthen the evidence, said Yusuf, investigators conducted a search on June 24-25, 2026 at a number of locations suspected to be related to the case.

The locations searched on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, include the KPPBC Type Middle Office of the Juanda Customs in Sedati, the Juanda Cargo Warehouse owned by PT Jasa Angkasa Semesta (JAS) in the Juanda International Airport area, the house belonging to MT on Jalan Raya Darmo Permai II, Surabaya, and Andayani's house in the Ketintang area, Surabaya.

From the search, investigators seized various evidence in the form of documents, electronic data, transaction records, customs documents, import documents, and other evidence suspected of being related to the case being investigated.

At MT's or Taslim's residence, investigators seized five iPhone mobile phones, one CCTV DVR, a newspaper account in Taslim's name, a money distribution notebook, a deposit slip, cash amounting to Rp. 165 million, and cash 14,200 Singapore dollars.

Meanwhile, from Andayani's house, investigators secured gold jewelry weighing around 22 grams, one land and building certificate, one Deed of Sale and Purchase (AJB), eight Building Use Rights Certificates (SHGB), and one motorcycle registration.

From the Juanda Customs Office, investigators seized three containers of documents and one file of the results of mirroring the CEISA application. Meanwhile, from PT Jasa Angkasa Semesta (JAS), investigators secured four containers of documents.

Yusuf emphasized that the search was carried out professionally, objectively, and based on evidence that had been obtained by investigators.

"The main purpose of this activity is to strengthen evidence in order to uncover all parties involved and can be held criminally responsible, determine suspects based on the adequacy of evidence, and ensure that the law enforcement process runs effectively and accountable," he said.

According to Yusuf, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will also conduct asset tracing to identify and return assets suspected of originating from criminal acts so that state losses can be optimally recovered.

"We will also continue to coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies, including the Public Prosecutor, to ensure that all legal processes run in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations," he concluded.
