JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Metro Police (Polres) deployed around 200 joint personnel to help the process of evacuating residents affected by the fire that hit a densely populated settlement in RW 04, Kebon Kosong Village, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kombes Pol Reynold Hutagalung, said personnel from the police, TNI, local government, and Brimob were deployed to help rescue residents, secure items that could still be saved, and support the smooth process of extinguishing.

"Currently, we from the Police, TNI, and local government have also gone directly to the location, especially we from the Central Jakarta Police, Metro Police, and a team from Brimob have come down with approximately 200 personnel to help evacuate the victims," said Reynold at the location. , Tuesday morning, reported by Antara.

In addition to helping with evacuation, officers also carried out traffic arrangements and closed a number of road access to the fire location so that fire trucks and ambulances could move faster.

According to Reynold, the area that was on fire was a densely populated settlement with a population of around 400 to 500 heads of households (KK). This information was obtained from the local RW manager.

"Here, there are indeed a lot of residents in RW 04 Kebon Kosong Village and we just talked to the head of RW who said there were about 400 to 500 households," he said.

As a result of the fire, six residents suffered from shortness of breath due to exposure to thick smoke. All victims have been evacuated and received medical treatment at Hermina Kemayoran Hospital.

"Currently, there are six victims who are suffocated by thick smoke and have been taken for help to Hermina Kemayoran Hospital," said Reynold.

He hopes that the condition of the victims will not worsen and that the handling process can run optimally through coordination with the Health Office and related agencies.

Until now, firefighters are still carrying out firefighting and cooling at the location. Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
