Ambles Street in Lenteng Agung is Getting Worse, the Road Agency Says It's Already Kopong

Jalan amblas di Jalan Raya Lenteng Agung, Jakarta Selatan, meluas hingga memakan dua lajur jalan pada Kamis malam, 28 Mei 2026. Kerusakan diduga dipicu kondisi saluran air di bawah badan jalan yang sudah kopong.

Head of the South Jakarta Road Development Sub-Office, Rifki Rismal, said that the initial report was received on Wednesday evening, May 27, 2026 from residents and Public Infrastructure and Facilities Management (PPSU) officers.

"On Wednesday night, the South Jakarta Sub-Department of Road Construction team received a report from residents and one of the PPSU officers that the road was sinking and the condition was a bit deep," Rifki told reporters, Friday, May 29.

Because the report was received at night, a new monitoring was carried out the next morning. When arriving at the location on Thursday morning, Bina Marga officers immediately carried out temporary handling using coldmix so that the road could still be passed by vehicles.

"Thursday morning, the South Jakarta Regional Office of Road Construction moved quickly to monitor the location, as well as carry out immediate follow-up with coldmix as an effort to maintain the safety and comfort of road users," he said.

However, the temporary repair did not last long. After checking with the Water Resources (SDA) Sub-Department, it was found that there was serious damage to the water channel under the road.

"From the results of the team's monitoring in the field, it was found that the condition under the road was indeed collapsed so that it needed serious handling by the SDA," said Rifki.

On Thursday afternoon, the road condition cracked and collapsed again. Officers then installed a water barrier to close the vulnerable area to prevent traffic accidents. Shortly thereafter, the road collapse worsened until it widened and took two lanes of vehicles.

"As a result of coordination with the SDA Party, the information received, the SDA party will immediately handle the damage to the water channel crossing at the location," said Rifki.

Rifki ensured that road repairs would be carried out after the repair of the manhole was completed. "After the repair of the manhole is completed, we will immediately repair the road," he added.
