Access to Tanjung Priok Port is totally paralyzed.

JAKARTA - Traffic access on Yos Sudarso Street towards the Tanjung Priok Port area, North Jakarta, was completely paralyzed and hundreds of vehicles experienced long traffic jams on Monday afternoon.

"This congestion is due to container depot activities at BSA, Temas, and Seacon," said Head of the Transportation Service (Sudinhub) Rudi Saptari, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 25.

He said this long traffic jam had been going on since Monday afternoon and continued until the evening.

Rudi said that since Monday afternoon, Transportation Service officers have been stationed at a number of points ranging from Jampea Street, Yos Sudaro, TL Permai, Post 9 and TL Kramat and TL Kebon Baru.

"Officers are already on the ground making arrangements," he said.

Monitoring in the field, the traffic jam appeared to be flowing along Jalan Yos Sudarso until it had an impact on the Ancol Toll Road to Tanjung Priok.

Likewise, vehicles from the Cawang toll road to Tanjung Priok Port on Monday afternoon.

Some of the container trucks that were stuck in the traffic jam were also seen turning off their car engines because the vehicles did not move until the evening.

"This is the result of port activities, that's why it's long," said the toll road officer while opening the toll barrier in front of the Pelindo Tower so that cars could turn around so as not to get stuck in traffic jams.
