BPJN Sumbar Promises DED for the Bridge that Broke Due to the August Total Disaster

West Sumatra National Road Implementation Agency (BPJN) targets the detailed engineering design (DED) or detailed engineering design of the Anduring Bridge in Kayu Tanam, Padang Pariaman Regency, which was broken due to a hydrometeorological disaster at the end of 2025 to be completed in August this year.

"We target the DED of this bridge to be completed in early August," said Head of BPJN West Sumatra Elsa Putra Friandi in Padang City, Saturday.

The head of BPJN said that a number of stages of the review or design review process had been carried out including preliminary surveys, topographic surveys, geotechnical surveys and hydrological surveys. Meanwhile, hydrological analysis is in the process of technical advice from the River Engineering Office in Solo, Central Java.

"Currently we are assisting the Solo River Engineering Office regarding river behavior for the improvement of DED," he said.

According to him, the construction of the Anduring Bridge basically requires a recommendation from the River Engineering Office, including regarding the depth of the foundation or the need for abutment protection that needs to be added considering the impact of damage from hydrometeorological disasters at the end of 2025.

In general, the building on the bridge will be built with a B70 steel frame with a span length of 2x70 meters or a total of 140 meters. The construction of this bridge is estimated to cost Rp. 45.2 billion with an estimated implementation of around 10 to 12 months.

Meanwhile, member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from West Sumatra Andre Rosiade said that when the detailed engineering design of the Anduring Bridge in Kayu Tanam was completed, the Ministry of Public Works would budget the construction of the bridge with the state budget.

He said that the construction of the Anduring Bridge will later use funds available for rehabilitation and reconstruction (rehab-rekon) programs. In the near future, he will meet the Minister of Public Works so that the bridge becomes a priority scale.

"We will try to make this one of the priorities for the relevant ministries so that this bridge can be rebuilt by the end of 2026," he said.
