Former BJB Corporate Director Divonis Free of Sritex Corruption Case

SEMARANG - The Semarang Corruption Crime Court (Tipikor), Central Java, has sentenced former Head of the Corporate and Commercial Division of Bank Jawa Barat and Banten (BJB) Dicky Syahbandinata to a free verdict in the alleged corruption case of granting credit facilities to PT Sritex.

"Declaring the defendant not guilty and must be acquitted of all charges," said Presiding Judge Rommel Franciskus Tampubolon in a trial at the Semarang Corruption Court, Thursday, May 7, reported by ANTARA.

Previously, the public prosecutor (JPU) demanded Dicky Syahbandinata with a sentence of six years in prison.

During the trial, the panel of judges proved the public prosecutor's indictment, which was prepared in a sub-subsidiary manner, namely the violation of Article 603 of the Criminal Code or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 which has been amended by Law 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes.

According to the judge, the defendant as the head of the credit division was not proven to have committed a subjective error, either intentionally or negligently.

"The defendant carried out the authority in a procedural manner," he said.

In addition, he said, the defendant also never knew about the engineering of financial reports carried out by PT Sritex.

"Because the defendant was found not guilty, he must be immediately released," said the judge.

In addition, the judge also asked for the rights of the defendants to be restored after the verdict on this case.

To the public prosecutor, the judge invited him to take legal action on the case.

Dicky Syahbandinata is on trial for the case of granting credit to PT Sritex which has caused losses to the regional government-owned bank of up to IDR 670 billion.
