The Head of Law Enforcement (Gakkum) of the Cimahi Police Traffic Unit, Ipda Nikmat Nugraha, said the accident occurred when the angkot stopped to pick up passengers in the area.

"When the angkot is stopping, then from the same direction a fuso truck comes that immediately hits the back of the angkot," said Nikmat as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, April 23.

He explained that the angkot with the police number D 1958 UT was traveling from Bandung to Cianjur before stopping at the scene.

When the angkot stopped, a fuso truck hit the back of the angkot resulting in a hard collision and causing it to roll over on the road.

"The passengers and the driver then got out of the angkot with the help of local residents. Several passengers were injured," he said.

All the injured victims were immediately rushed to the nearest health facility for medical treatment.

Nikmat Nugraha ensured that there were no casualties in the incident, although all the passengers who were students were injured.

"For the injured victims, they have received medical treatment, there were no casualties. Some of the victims have also been allowed to go home," he said.

He added that the Cimahi Police had carried out an investigation at the crime scene (TKP) and secured the vehicles involved for further investigation.
