Sabu Courier Paid Rp250 Thousand Once, Central Java Police Arrested 2 Perpetrators in Karanganyar

SEMARANG - The Central Java Regional Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate has uncovered a case of methamphetamine distribution in the Karanganyar to Surakarta area. Two suspects were arrested while about to make a transaction on Jalan Solo-Tawangmangu, Jaten District, Sunday (19/4) early morning.

The two perpetrators, namely MIS (33) and ARS (25), are residents of Sragen. MIS acts as a courier, while ARS also helps the circulation.

From the results of the arrests and developments, the police seized a total of 15 packages of methamphetamine with a gross weight of 10.84 grams which were spread at a number of points, such as the Palur gas station area, ATMs, stalls, Pucangsawit minimarkets, to around Palur Plaza. This mode is known as a "temple" system to avoid detection.

In addition to methamphetamine, the police also secured digital scales, plastic clips, straws, motorcycles, and cellphones.

Director of Narcotics Investigation of the Central Java Police, Yos Guntur, revealed that the perpetrators had only carried out the action twice. They admitted that they received a wage of Rp. 250 thousand each time they delivered the package, as well as rewards for using narcotics for free.

"The goods were obtained from someone with the initials GRR who is currently on the wanted list (DPO), with a package breaking system," he said.

For their actions, the two suspects were charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) of the Narcotics Law with a maximum penalty of death or life imprisonment.

Police are now still hunting down the main supplier and developing the network of the spread of methamphetamine.
