Two DKP Officials in South West Aceh Charged with Corruption of Ice Factory

BANDA ACEH - The public prosecutor (JPU) of the South West Aceh District Attorney's Office (Abdya) has charged two officials of the Aceh Barat Regency Fisheries Service (DKP) with corruption in the development of processing facilities and infrastructure, improving the quality and marketing of ice factory products.

The indictment was read by JPU Leo Karnando Caniago during the trial at the Corruption Crime Court at the Banda Aceh District Court in Banda Aceh, Friday, March 27.

The two defendants are Darwilis as the Technical Implementation Officer (PPTK) at the West Aceh Regency Fisheries Office (DKP) 2015-2017. As well as T Ari Gunawan as the ice plant manager at the West Aceh Regency Fisheries Office (DKP) in 2015-2017.

Reported by ANTARA, the prosecutor in his indictment stated that the corruption crime was committed by the defendants in the period 2015 to 2017, including not depositing the income from the sale of ice blocks of IDR 258.9 million.

Then, he did not collect consumer debts at the ice factory in the period 2015 to 2017 amounting to Rp368.17 million. As well as manipulating the purchase of salt, ammonia, and other ice factory equipment amounting to Rp88.1 billion.

The actions of the defendants caused state losses of IDR 715.2 million. The state's losses were based on calculations by the Aceh Representative Financial and Development Supervisory Agency, said JPU Leo Karnando Caniago.

After hearing the indictment of the JPU, the defendant Darwilis through his legal advisor expressed objections and filed an objection or resistance to the prosecutor's indictment. Meanwhile, the defendant T Ari Gunawan stated that he did not object to the JPU's indictment.

The panel of judges, headed by Irwandi and accompanied by R Deddy Harryanto and Zul Azmi, as members of the judges, continued the trial on Thursday (2/4) with the agenda of listening to the defendant's objection to Darwilis and examining witnesses for the defendant T Ari Gunawan.
