Kakorlantas Reveals the Strategy for Managing the Return Flow of Lebaran

JAKARTA - Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Inspector General Pol. Agus Suryonugroho revealed the traffic management strategy during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming.

"There is also a special strategy for the reverse flow. So, in particular, is the use of functional toll roads. This is very strategic," he said when met at the KM 29 Cikampek Toll Command Center, West Java, Thursday.

He gave an example, on the return flow, the South Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II Toll to Delta Mas and Setu will be used to disperse vehicle density.

"So those from West Java, especially private vehicles or vehicles that are not large, will go through a functional toll road. This is very good so that there are not many crossings at KM 66," he said.

For information, KM 66 is the meeting point between the traffic flow from the Trans Java Toll Road and the Cikampek-Purwakarta-Padalarang Toll Road (Cipularang) traffic flow towards Jakarta.

Another strategy is the use of the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi Functional Toll (Bocimi) from Parungkuda to Karangtengah.

However, he said that his party would coordinate with Jasa Marga in determining the steps used to anticipate the return traffic.

Previously, the West Java Police (Jabar) ensured that the South Japek II Toll Road was ready to be opened functionally during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming and return as an effort to reduce vehicle density.

Director of Traffic of West Java Police, Kombes Pol. Raydian Kokrosono said that the lane became one of the sections that were prepared after a joint check with the Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the National Police and the West Java Police Chief.

According to him, the opening of the lane is expected to be able to break the flow of vehicles from Central Java to Jakarta so that the density on the main lane can be reduced.

In addition to Japek II South, the Bocimi Section 3 toll road along about 6 kilometers which connects Parungkuda to Karangtengah is also potentially opened functionally.
