JAKARTA - The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has extended the risk warning for civilian flights in the Middle East conflict zone until March 27.

EASA said the Conflict Zone Information Bulletin (CZIB) was revised to "reflect the observed conflict dynamics" based on the assessment of the EU Integrated Air Safety Risk Assessment Group (IRAG).

"The revision includes differences in the level and geographical distribution of military activities. The CZIB is valid until March 27," said EASA in a statement quoted by ANTARA from Sputnik, Thursday, March 19.

On February 28, the US and Israel launched an attack on a number of targets in Iran, including in Tehran, which caused damage and killed civilians.

Iran retaliated by attacking Israeli territory and US military facilities across the Middle East.

The US and Israel initially claimed the "preemptive strike" was necessary to counter the threat from Iran's nuclear program, but later they said the goal was to change the ruling regime in Iran.
