JAKARTA - The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (Polda NTB) has revealed the modus operandi of a head of a pesantren (ponpes) in the Praya Timur area, Central Lombok Regency, with the initials MTF who sexually harassed female students.

Head of Sub-Directorate II of Women and Children Protection and Eradication of Human Trafficking (Res PPA-PPO) of NTB Police, Kompol Pratiwi Noviani, said that the modus operandi was revealed from a series of investigations.

"In the investigation process, the suspect is suspected of committing acts by utilizing his position and authority. The modus operandi used includes manipulating the situation with a doctrinal approach and taking advantage of the victim's vulnerability so that the victim is moved to commit illegal acts," he said in a statement received in Mataram, Tuesday, quoted by Antara.

The alleged act, he explained, was revealed from the results of the investigation at the investigation stage which was carried out by the alleged perpetrator of MTF repeatedly.

"There are up to four times against one of the victims, and there are other victims with similar events," he said.

Pratiwi revealed that the victims who reported MTF as sexual harassment perpetrators that led to the alleged act of sexual intercourse were two female students.

Both victims received the immoral act from the beginning of May 2025 to mid-August 2025 in the khalwat room of the boarding school.

With the revelation of this modus, the police named MTF as a suspect and detained him since Monday (2/3) at the NTB Police Detention Center.

"So, from a series of investigations carried out professionally and from the perspective of victim protection, the status of the reported person has been upgraded from a witness to a suspect and the person concerned has now been detained," said Pratiwi.

For his actions, MTF was named a suspect under Article 473 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code or Article 6 letter C of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Sexual Violence Crimes (TPKS).

A number of evidence that strengthens the position of MTF as a suspect has been secured in this case, including administrative documents of the pesantren, the victim's clothes, condom wrappers, room keys, and other items related to the alleged crime.
