Chairman of the Bogor DPRD Appreciates CGM 2026 as a Symbol of Unity

BOGOR - The annual Bogor Street Fest Cap Go Meh (CGM) 2026 event officially began with a donation and breaking the fast together with hundreds of orphans at the Dhanagun Monastery, Jalan Suryakencana, Bogor City, Sunday, March 1, 2026.

The Chairman of the Bogor City DPRD, Adityawarman Adil, said that this momentum was not just a cultural ceremony, but a strong symbol of the social bond between religious people.

Adityawarman emphasized the importance of maintaining the values of togetherness that have long taken root in Bogor. The presence of important figures such as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto and Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim in the event reaffirmed the government's support for diversity.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Cap Go Meh 2026 Committee, Arifin Hikmawan, explained that the tradition of opening together at this monastery has entered its 11th year. This is a tangible proof that differences in beliefs are not an obstacle to sharing happiness.

"This is the 11th year of the joint opening held at the Dhanagun Temple. This activity is a tangible proof of interreligious tolerance in Bogor City," said Arifin.

Arifin added that as many as 400 orphans from six sub-districts in Bogor City were invited to feel the warmth of togetherness in the Buddhist house of worship.

"So each sub-district has approximately 60 orphans who come to this bukber event," he explained.

In line with the message brought by Adityawarman Adil, the committee hopes that this spirit of togetherness does not stop at the annual ceremony. The harmony that is created is expected to become the foundation of neighborhood life in Bogor City.

"Hopefully the harmony of the people of different religions in Bogor City will remain harmonious. And also can always live in harmony," concluded Arifin.
