JAKARTA - The movement of women's leadership in Indonesia has entered a new phase. Saraswati Fellowship, a mentorship program initiated by Rahayu Saraswati Djojohadikusumo, officially held the graduation procession (Graduation) Batch 1 on Sunday (22/2) in Jakarta.

This momentum marks the birth of the first 30 fellows who have successfully completed the intensive leadership program series for three months.

National Figure and Industry Leader Synergy

This event is not only a graduation ceremony, but also a platform for cross-sector collaboration. A number of Super Mentors and national figures were also present to provide support, including:

Shinta Kamdani (CEO Sintesa Group & Chairwoman APINDO) as Keynote Speaker. Dony Oskaria (Head of BP BUMN) who delivered the Closing Speech. Moon Nguyet Phillips (Global Brand Woman Leader) and Ferry Malvinas (Partner BCG) as panelists.

Representatives from ministries, SOEs, to the leadership of non-profit organizations were also present, emphasizing the importance of inclusive access for women in the professional field.

Meeting the Need for "Visual Reference" of Women Leaders

In her remarks, Rahayu Saraswati Djojohadikusumo - or Sara as she is affectionately known - emphasized that this program is a real response to the limited access to self-development for young women.

"Our next generation needs visual references that give them a concrete image that women can. The Saraswati Fellowship is here to prepare more of these figures," said Sara, who is also the female leader in the DPR-RI.

In line with this, Dony Oskaria called this activity a symbol of optimism. According to him, the role of women is very crucial not only in the family, but also in building the nation.

National Museum: Witness the Birth of the Architect of Civilization

The selection of the National Museum as the location of the event is considered to have a deep philosophical meaning. Shinta Kamdani called the graduates as "candidates for the architects of a new civilization".

"In this place, history is being formed. We celebrate the presence of 30 women who in the future will be actively involved in various important decision-making in Indonesia," said Shinta.

Since it opened in July 2025, this program has attracted more than 400 applicants from across Indonesia. The following is the composition of the 30 selected graduates:

15 Senior Students. 15 Mid-Career Women. Wide Representation: Covering 11 industry sectors and 14 different academic majors.

Building a Sustainable Ecosystem

Sara explained that the success of Batch 1 was only the first step. The main focus of this program is to equip participants with soft skills and practical knowledge that is often not obtained in formal education.

"Saraswati Fellowship doesn't stop here. We are preparing for Batch 2. Hopefully, this program can continue to scale up and provide a wider impact for the female leadership ecosystem in Indonesia," concluded Sara.
