President Prabowo Says the First Meeting of the Board of Peace to Seek Peace in Gaza

WASHINGTON D.C. - President Prabowo Subianto revealed that the first meeting of the Board of Peace (BoP) held on Thursday, February 19 local time will discuss efforts to achieve peace in Gaza, Palestine.

This was conveyed by President Prabowo Subianto in a Business Forum with the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C., United States, Wednesday, February 18 local time. Furthermore, President Prabowo added, Indonesia has consistently carried out the principle of active free politics.

Indonesia does not side with any particular power bloc and actively participates in creating world peace.

Previously on Monday, February 16, Foreign Minister Sugiono held a bilateral meeting with the Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations (UN), Minister Riyad Mansour at the Palestinian Representative Office, New York, USA. On that occasion, Sugiono reiterated Indonesia's support for Palestine, its commitment to promoting a just and sustainable peace, and emphasized the importance of realizing a two-state solution.

Sugiono also conveyed President Prabowo's participation in the Board of Peace meeting in Washington D.C. with a number of world leaders, including countries that are members of the "Group of 8" (Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan), which actively encourage peace efforts in Gaza, Palestine.
