Beware, Don't Be Indifferent in Blok M, 'Sat Set' Working Copet

JAKARTA - The alleged pickpocketing in the Blok M area, South Jakarta, has become a public concern after a video recording of the incident circulated on social media. The video was uploaded to the Instagram account @vortexforidn and was widely discussed by netizens.

In the video that went viral, two women were seen sitting while taking a photo. A mobile phone was seen placed next to one of them. Not long after, a man wearing a blue shirt and a black hat passed by and allegedly took the phone.

The video upload was accompanied by the caption, "Enteng Banget Itu Tangan, Detik-detik Copet Gasak iPhone Cewek Ini Ketika Lengah di Blok M."

Responding to the viral video, the Head of the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Iskandarsyah, stated that his party had received information and was currently conducting an investigation.

"The team has received information regarding the incident. Based on the information we received, the incident occurred on February 8, 2026. Currently, an investigation is being conducted," said Iskandarsyah, Friday, February 13, 2026.

He added that the police are now focusing on the process of identifying the man who was recorded in the video.

"Identification is being carried out by our team," he said.

The police also urged the victim to immediately report to facilitate the process of handling the case.

"We urge the victim to immediately report. We also hope that this case can be revealed soon," he continued.

In addition, the public is asked to proactively report if they experience or witness suspected criminal acts.

"We appeal to the public who are victims or know of suspected criminal acts to immediately come to the nearest police station or contact the 110 service," he concluded.
