Jembrana - The Jembrana Regency Government, Bali, has formed a Beach Clean Task Force (Satgas) to maintain and clean the beach area from garbage.
"Various elements are involved in this task force, namely from us, the TNI, the National Police and the community," said Jembrana Regent I Made Kembang Hartawan, quoted by Antara, Monday, February 9.
He said that to overcome the garbage on the beach that threatens the marine ecosystem, strategic and tactical steps must be taken, one of which is the formation of a task force.
The beach, he said, is an important asset for Jembrana Regency not only in terms of tourism, but also related to the marine biodiversity of the area.
According to him, this task force will be formed in every banjar/dusun with the TNI and the National Police as supervisors in the field.
In his duties, according to him, this task force not only cleans the beach from garbage, but also carries out supervision and education so that in the future no one will throw garbage into the sea.
"Actually, the most important thing is consistent supervision, education and training, so that no one throws garbage into the sea or beach," he said.
With this task force, he hopes that there will be a quick response by cleaning when there is garbage on the beach.
With the principle of gotong-royong, he is optimistic that the beaches along Jembrana Regency will be clean of garbage as desired by President Prabowo Subianto.
"We from the district government order all village heads on the coast to monitor and immediately take action to clean up if there is garbage on the beach," he said.
He also appealed to the public not to throw garbage into the river, because the garbage they throw will flow into the sea.
"Keeping the sea clean from garbage must also start from the upstream, namely the river. If there is no community throwing garbage into the river, the sea will also be clean from garbage," he said.
