BADUNG - The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Bali in collaboration with Finns Beach Club has strengthened emergency response at tourist destinations by using a search and rescue helicopter equipped with air evacuation capabilities without landing.
Head of the Denpasar I Class A Search and Rescue Office, Nyoman Sidakarya, said the collaboration using a helicopter owned by PT. Sayap Garuda Indah (SGI) Bali is a form of mutual commitment in improving the "response time" of emergency handling to provide a sense of security for domestic and foreign tourists who are on vacation in Bali.
He emphasized that the support of one Bell 412 helicopter owned by SGI was very helpful in the evacuation process in difficult terrain.
"The helicopter has been equipped with a 'hoist' equipment that allows rescuers to be lowered directly to the location and the victims to be evacuated without landing," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, February 7.
Basarnas will also prepare a team of helpers with special competencies to support the operation.
Basarnas also expressed its gratitude to the management of FINNS Beach Club for its commitment to providing operational support for SGI, so that the SAR helicopter can be dedicated to readiness in the Bali Province area.
This collaboration is expected to be able to bring real benefits, not only for visitors to FINNS Beach Club, but also for all tourists and the people of Bali in general.
With the support of helicopters as the fastest mode of evacuation at this time, the synergy between SGI and Basarnas is believed to increase the speed and effectiveness of SAR operations and humanitarian tasks on the Island of the Gods.
He believes that the presence of this helicopter is an important milestone in strengthening the emergency response system on the Island of the Gods, especially in coastal areas and tourist destinations with high visitation rates.
The SAR helicopter was realized through funding and full support from FINNS Beach Club, and will be operated by SGI, a search and rescue organization based in Bali that has been actively carrying out rescue missions on land and at sea.
With the support of this air fleet, the response speed and evacuation capacity are expected to increase significantly, especially in difficult terrain conditions and large-scale emergency situations.
Basarnas and Finnns Beach Club also signed a memorandum of understanding to confirm the common commitment between the private sector and the government in strengthening the emergency handling ecosystem in Bali.
In its implementation, Nusa Medica was also involved as a medical service partner that provided health support in the SAR operation carried out by SGI together with Basarnas.
Basarnas, SGI and the Finns Beach Club also carried out a live simulation of a rescue at sea.
