JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung ensures that the Transjabodetabek service on the Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta Airport route, which will officially operate next week, applies the same tariff as the regular Transjakarta service. There is no price adjustment for the new route.

Pramono said the tariff decision was confirmed in a limited meeting to finalize the Transjabodetabek service held today. The tariff scheme remains in accordance with the provisions of Transjakarta which has been in effect until now.

"Today we have a special meeting to finalize the TransJabodetabek from Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta. Regarding the tariff plan, there has been no change, it is still before 6 am Rp2,000, after 6 am Rp3,500," said Pramono in Ancol, North Jakarta, Thursday, February 5.

To support the operation of the Blok M-Soetta route, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared 20 bus fleets. With this number, the arrival interval of the bus is targeted not to be too long, even though it serves long-distance travel to the airport.

"Regarding the fleet that is prepared for this route, it is 20, so that every 5, a maximum of 10 minutes, there is always one," he said.

Pramono also responded to public complaints regarding the waiting time for public transportation, which was considered to be getting longer. He admitted that the rainy season was one of the factors that affected the timeliness of services.

Apart from weather factors, the significant increase in the number of passengers is also said to contribute to the density of services. Pramono assessed that the policy of free public transportation for 15 groups of people had encouraged a surge in public transport users in Jakarta.

According to Pramono, this condition shows a change in people's behavior who have started to make public transportation their main choice in daily mobility. "That's why people now, riding public transportation has become a new habit," he said.

Pramono believes that this route will be crowded with passengers and can mimic the occupancy rate of other Transjabodetabek routes, such as Blok M-Bogor, which he said is almost always full.

"I believe, I hope this is like the Blok M route to Bogor. Now almost every day the bus is full. This means it will be effective in trying to reduce people using private transportation such as cars and the like," said Pramono.

Currently, a number of Transjabodetabek routes are operating, including Alam Sutera-Block M, PIK2-Block M, Bogor-Block M, Sawangan-Lebak Bulus, Vida Bekasi-Cawang, and Bekasi-Dukuh Atas.

Pramono assessed that this route would be in demand by many people because it facilitates continued mobility to various public transportation modes within the city.

"It must be faster because it has a special lane, so that way, this will make it easier for anyone who will leave or return, who uses aircraft transportation, to go to Blok M, from Blok M you can go anywhere. Whether it's MRT, TransJakarta, and so on," he concluded.
