JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bandung Regency, West Java, recorded two children dead in a landslide disaster in Mekarsari Village, Tribakti Mulya Village, Pangalengan, Sunday.

After the incident, BPBD together with village officials and local Muspika elements conducted an assessment to the disaster site to ensure the field conditions and anticipate potential further threats.

BPBD appealed to residents, especially those living around the landslide location, to temporarily vacate the building, because the soil conditions are still unstable.

"We ask the public to remain vigilant, especially if it rains again, because it has the potential to trigger a follow-up landslide," he said.
