2.5 Hours Closed at the Élysée Palace, Prabowo-Macron Discusses the Direction of the Strategic Partnership between Indonesia and France

JAKARTA - Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya revealed the contents of President Prabowo Subianto's meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, Paris, France, which lasted for approximately 2.5 hours.

The Presidential Secretariat, Teddy, explained that President Prabowo visited the Élysée Palace, Friday (23/1) evening, in order to fulfill President Macron's invitation for a dinner. The two leaders were previously in Davos, Switzerland, to give a special speech at the Davos Annual Meeting, World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026.

"The closed meeting of the two leaders lasted about 2.5 hours starting with dinner. The two leaders committed to strengthening strategic partnerships in various fields that have been built for a long time, as well as aligning global issues between the two leaders," said the Presidential Secretariat, quoted by Antra, Sunday, January 25.

Teddy, who accompanied President Prabowo at the Élysée Palace, continued that the two leaders also discussed several issues of concern to France as the G7 chairman.

During the meeting, President Macron was accompanied by Presidential Chief of Staff General Vincent Giraud, Foreign Affairs Advisor Emmanuel Bonne, and French Ambassador to Indonesia Fabien Penone.

Meanwhile, in addition to the Presidential Chief of Staff Teddy, President Prabowo was also accompanied by the Head of State Protocol Andy Rachmianto.

President Prabowo's visit to Paris lasted for about 5 hours. From Paris, President Prabowo immediately departed for Jakarta.

At the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, Saturday, January 24 afternoon, the Garuda Indonesia-1 plane carrying President Prabowo and his limited entourage has landed.

At the apron of Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, President Prabowo's arrival was greeted by the Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Head of the National Intelligence Agency M. Herindra, National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, TNI Commander General TNI Agus Subiyanto, and the Presidential Chief of Staff of the Republic of Indonesia Rizky Irmansyah.

The President's arrival in Jakarta ended President Prabowo's series of overseas visits since the beginning of this week in London, England, then in the city of Davos, Switzerland, and finally Paris, France.
