Pramono Promises to Provide Labor Incentives if He is Not Satisfied with DKI UMP 2026

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung admitted that there was a debate between labor groups or workers and employers in the formulation of the value of the DKI Jakarta provincial minimum wage (UMP) increase in 2026.

This is seen in the discussion process of the Wage Council which involves the DKI Provincial Government, employers, and trade unions which are still ongoing.

Therefore, if later workers are not satisfied with the determination of UMP to be announced, Pramono promises to provide incentives to ease their burden.

"Tug-of-war will definitely happen and the DKI Jakarta Government will provide incentives for workers," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday, December 22.

The incentives provided by the DKI Provincial Government next year are free public transportation service cards for Jakarta Worker Card (KPJ) holders, health service incentives, and discounts on clean water bills for PAM Jaya pipelines.

"Why are we doing that? We know that the lives of workers today also still need attention or attention from the Jakarta government. That's what we're doing," explained Pramono.

In the process of determining next year's UMP, the DKI Provincial Government must refer to Government Regulation Number 49 of 2025. The regulation regulates the range of UMP adjustments that serve as the basis for calculation in the discussion.

Pramono targets the discussion of the determination of the 2026 UMP to be completed and agreed on today. The position of the DKI Provincial Government is in the middle as a mediator in the UMP determination process.

"Now in Jakarta, today is the last discussion. Between the DKI Jakarta Government as a mediator, in the middle, then the employers and the workers," said Pramono.

According to Pramono, the discussion is still ongoing and focused on reaching a common ground that can be accepted between employers and workers. Pramono specifically gave a limit so that the discussion would not drag on.

"Now the discussion is being carried out for that. Hopefully today it will be completed. Because I also give a limit that if it can be completed today," he said.

If an agreement is reached, the DKI Provincial Government will immediately announce the amount of the 2026 UMP to the public. However, Pramono admitted that according to the central government's regulations, there is still time until December 24, 2025.

"If it is completed today, it will be announced immediately. PP regulates the time limit is December 24. I hope it can be completed today," said Pramono.
