JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has prepared a number of traffic engineering at vulnerable points during the long Christmas holiday 2025 and New Year's Eve 2026. The focus of security is mainly on the southern route of Java Island and East Java.

This was conveyed by the Assistant National Police Chief for Operations (AstamaOps) Inspector General Muhammad Fadil Imran after the Police Operation "Lilin 2025" title Apel at the Monas Cross Field, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Friday, December 19, 2025.

Fadil explained that the traffic engineering scenario had been prepared and simulated based on the results of traffic counting and was intensively coordinated between the National Police and the police.

"We have coordinated, including the use of smart city systems in Bali and a number of other areas that have the potential to experience traffic congestion," said Fadil.

He also invited the public to play an active role in maintaining security and order during the holiday period, and to take advantage of police services if they need assistance.

"For people who need help, please contact the 110 police service. We ask for prayers and support so that all of these security and humanitarian missions can run smoothly," he said.

Meanwhile, the President Director of Jasa Marga, Rivan Achmad Purwantono, predicts that the outflow of vehicles during the Christmas and New Year period will reach around 2.9 million vehicles.

"Based on traffic counting, historical data, and the Average Daily Traffic (LHR) for the last 11 months, we estimate that the outflow will reach around 2.9 million vehicles," explained Rivan.

For the Cikampek Toll Road section, vehicle volume is estimated to increase by 11.2 percent compared to normal conditions, but only increased by 0.9 percent compared to the Christmas and New Year period the previous year.

"With this growth, we assess that traffic can still be controlled so that no large traffic diversion is needed. We continue to coordinate intensively with Kakorlantas," he said.
