LiPo Battery Storage 30,000 MAh On Terra Drone Is Done In A Dangerous Way

JAKARTA - Based on the results of the examination conducted by the Central Jakarta Metro Police and the Labfor Team, it can be concluded that the security level of the 1st floor of the Terra Drone office is not standard. A number of flammable items are in one room.

As explained in previous news, the source of the fire came from a Lithium Polymer (LiPo) type drone battery with a capacity of 30,000 mAh, fell and then emitted sparks.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Police Susatyo Purnomo Condro explained that the results of the analysis by the National Police Labfor Team revealed that the storage of batteries on the Indonesian Terra Drone was carried out in a very dangerous and non-standard manner.

"The storage space is only 2\times2 meters in size, without ventilation or fire-resistant protection. Meanwhile, the batteries were damaged, piled up to three flats along with used batteries and healthy batteries," he said.

In addition, the police also did not find any standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to handling flammable materials.

Even the generator is in the same area, thus increasing the potential for heat to trigger a fire.

"Combination of this condition makes one small spark develop into a big fire that immediately spreads to the upper floor," he said.

Investigators also highlighted the condition of building safety which was considered almost non-existent.

Investigators did not find any emergency doors, no smoke sensors, no fire protection systems, and no evacuation routes that should be the minimum standard in high-rise buildings.

In addition, the building does not have an IMB and SLF permits for six-story offices, but is used up to seven floors at once as a storage location or a warehouse for hazardous materials.

This condition exacerbates the number of victims who died to 22 employees and female workers. Thick smoke quickly rose to the top floor and trapped workers who did not have access out.
